TJADER-KNIGHT inc.

Maria & David Tjader-Knight [ FI/UK ]

Helsinki based, critical [Post] New Media / digital art duo TJADER-KNIGHT inc. brings forward a marriage of visual imagery analysis and aural landscape creation. While approaching the mechanisms to touch the ineffable their language nevertheless also underpins strings of the very current debates of power, choice and collective individualism.

Take a minute

  • The sad thing about artificial intelligence is that it lacks artifice and therefore intelligence. Jean Baudrillard
  • bio

Participation to international film and media festivals with a number of linear and
interactive productions. Exhibitions in Museums and Galleries. Lecturing on demand.
Most importantly having good humour and having fun!

TJADER-KNIGHT inc. was established 2000 to give a solid basis for collaboration between
these two artists. Before this they both had already active solo careers within the new media,
    sound engineering and graphic arts.

Maria Tjader-Knight received the Master of Arts in spring 2000 and is currently developing a
Doctoral Thesis at the University of Art and Design / Medialab, Helsinki, to challenge the
stability of the audiovisual bodies in the focal points of the digital media.

David Knight, European Master of film production and multimedia, experienced light
and sound engineer, is currently developing soundscapes, aural destinations and computer
software, hardware and networks to fulfil the challenges of digital creation.

TJADER-KNIGHT inc. breaks down the classical narrative and instead, presents an antiauthoritarian one with a stream of sounds, images and text devoid of any central point of view. TJADER-KNIGHT inc.s’ repertoire extends from the ‘Digital’ elastic ambience to all aspects of digital film creation/production.co-production onto quite a vast body of ‘web activism’….

Will you be there? Have you been there?

Where you were exposed into the different notion of space, sense…
    Through your very presence.

‘Mechanisms of Exposure ~ Gestures of Pleasure’ MMI
    TJADER-KNIGHT inc.

We build on the understanding that history is constructed, not discovered, truth is made not found.

Also, as Aragon once replied to John Cage when he asked: “how history is written” “You have to invent it”.

Eradicating the perspective confining the space-time continuum of “natural perception”. Creating a perfect mirror of elongated distance. In this manner the spectator is also brought within the scene, within the very originary.
